Mira joined the Murphy Lab in May 2019 as a summer research student after her first year of medical school. In the lab she is working with Kim and Sara, studying a potential cure for sickle cell disease using patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and a gene-editing approach. She’s currently interested in becoming a pediatric hematologist or oncologist, and also hopes to continue to be involved in research as a physician.
In her free time, Mira enjoys cooking, painting or drawing, reading, and going to the beach.
